process

the starting point was the existing website. hard to navigate, visually inconsistent, and not doing its job for a photography-based business. the content was there, but the structure worked against it.

i started by choosing a template that could handle a visual-heavy layout, then built a rough version quickly, just enough to show a direction. checking in with the client early meant we weren't guessing. she approved the structure before any detail work began.

from there, everything came from her: her color palette, her photographs. the work was mostly about giving her existing material the right frame. organizing the galleries so they felt intentional, not just a dump of images. layout decisions were made around the photos, not the other way around.

the final site is live at fotobu.net . a clean, browsable portfolio that actually works for what it needs to do.
