pixel algorithms

project overview
a 2-minute animation designed as a video game for elementary school students learning about algorithms. the challenge: turn an abstract concept into something kids would actually want to watch. leaning into pixel art and a retro game aesthetic felt like the right answer: familiar, playful, and on-theme.

process
a school project that pushed me into completely unfamiliar territory. pixel art looks simple but every element has to be built frame by frame, pixel by pixel. there's no room for shortcuts. working in adobe animate for the first time while also figuring out the visual language was a steep learning curve, but the constraint of the style ended up shaping the whole project.
